Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university preferred, an Associate’s degree required with 4 years’ experience, or 6years work experience in a lead role as a Risk Management position. Experience in a field related to Safety/Risk Management, Emergency Management or Public Safety. Journeyman certified preferred. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal, analysis, and computer skills.

 

 

 

Job Description:

Safety/Risk Manager- Risk Manager Performs routine to moderately complex risk
management/emergency management and life safety work. Develops and maintains facility risk management/safety plan, policies, and procedures. Develops, writes and implements facility management programs such as the Emergency Management Program. Conducts risk management reviews to ensure the center is compliant with state and federal and Joint Commission regulations. Performs work related to facility safety & maintenance of buildings, including fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, identify life safety code discrepancies evaluate confined space conditions, manage Haz-Mat issues and documentation. Conducts various environmental/safety inspections of facility operations, reviews environmental/safety audits and communicates with facility administration, division and/or department heads regarding Life Safety Code/State Fire Marshall violations. The work involves reviewing, evaluating, inspecting and developing a comprehensive safety program which identifies risk exposures, analyzes their causes and impact, and develops appropriate strategies for avoiding and/or reducing potential losses. Coordinates public safety program activities, offers procedural assistance to all staff, and participates in community or public associations that are related to emergency management and/or safety related events. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the Centers obligations for disaster
response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP)activation, ability to do journeyman construction related projects, monitor/oversee bids on projects, monitor scope of work, oversee Centers fleet and maintenance schedule. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.
