Description

Job Description:
Performs moderately complex rehabilitation planning and instructional work. Responsible for delivery of
rehabilitative training for assigned caseload; coordination of consumer’s needs in order to maintain stability in the community and achieve independence; crisis prevention and intervention. Provides skills training to address negative behaviors that are symptoms of emotional disturbance in order to help youth function independently in school, home and in the community. Collects, prepares, and reviews case data used to determine client eligibility for financial, medical, and/or social services. Services provided to children ages 3 to 17 with a diagnosis of mental illness who exhibit serious emotional, behavioral or mental disorders Community-based services. Requires travel within city and flexible hours.

Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor’s or advance degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education or early childhood intervention. Knowledge of community resources; of case management principles, objectives, standards, and methods; and of program policies and procedures. Ability to assess client needs, coordinate client services, and to communicate effectively.
Ability to plan and teach curriculum. Valid Texas Driver’s License with good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in both English and Spanish
Experience working with children with emotional disorders
