Description

Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s or advance degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human service filed including but not limited to, psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, education and criminal justice. Experience in social work. Experience working with persons with Intellectual and developmental disabilities. Knowledge or local, state and federal laws related to the program area; Knowledge of community resources; of case management principles, objective, standards, and methods; and of program policies and procedures. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License required.

Preferred: One year experience assessing client needs, coordinating client services, and monitoring program effectiveness. Experience working for local intellectual and developmental disability authority.

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the IDD Authority Director, performs routine (journey-level) administrative and supervisory program work. Work involves assisting in establishing program goals and objectives; assisting developing program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations,; assisting in developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving program goals; and assisting in evaluating program activities. Supervises the work of others. Is compliant with Center policies and procedures, program protocols and requirements of other regulatory bodes. Review clients referred to case management and tracks progress through the case management intake and screening process. Participates in the quality assurance and utilization review processes for case management to ensure quality services. Identifies problem areas, services gaps, and areas that are barriers to services for clients. Documents case records and prepares repots. Assists with intra- or interagency service coordination and referral problems. Participates in IDD on call schedule. Performs related work as assigned. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
