Description

Qualifications:
Experience in therapeutic work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Experience in behavioral or intellectual challenges. Requires adult who has been diagnosed with a mental illness themselves. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License with a good driving record and be certified within 6 months of hire (Peer Provider). Preferred: Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to perform routine duties. Reliable transportation. Ability to maintain positive working relationship with others. Computer literate. Ability to function as a team member. Ability to work under limited supervision with considerable latitude for independent judgment. Certification as a Peer Specialist. Whole Health or WHAM Certification. Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
Job Description:
Performs routine (journey-level) Peer support work. Work involves observing interactions with persons served and facilitating individual and group sessions. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Performs complex rehabilitative consumer care work. Provide support, information, referrals, follow-up, and technical assistance to peers and provide general consultation to staff and, rehabilitative case management teams. Maintain data indicating the number of referrals, resources, unmet needs of peers and barriers to obtaining services for all interested parties. Provides 50 hours per month indirect services to consumers to include home visits, office visits and community visits.
